Privacy Policy
This site does not run a contact form and does not sell anything online, so there is very little to collect. Here is exactly what happens with what there is.

Evanston Garage Door Repair Guys ("we", "us") operates evanstongaragedoorrepairs.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and by telephone, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
Information we collect
Through this website
This website has no contact form, no account system, no newsletter signup and no shopping cart. We do not ask you to submit any personal information through it.
Like almost all websites, our hosting provider automatically records standard technical information when a page is requested: the requesting IP address, the page requested, the date and time, the referring page, and the browser and operating system reported by your device. This is server log data, generated by the act of requesting a page, and it is used for security monitoring and to understand which pages are being read.
When you call us
When you telephone us, we take the information needed to do the job: your name, the telephone number you would like us to use, the service address, and a description of the problem. If you go ahead with work, we retain a record of what was done and when, which is normal business record-keeping and is what allows us to help you properly if you call back about the same door.
Third-party services on this site
Two third-party elements appear on our pages:
- Google Maps embeds. Our contact page, service area page and footer include an embedded Google map showing our shop location. When that map loads, Google receives a request from your browser and may set cookies or collect data according to its own privacy policy. If you would prefer not to load it, most browsers allow you to block third-party frames.
- Outbound links. We link to City of Evanston pages, village and county websites, DASMA safety guidance, federal agencies and similar authoritative sources. Those sites have their own privacy policies and we do not control them.
We do not run advertising networks, remarketing pixels, social media tracking scripts or session-recording tools on this site.
Cookies
This website does not set its own cookies. Cookies may be set by the embedded Google Maps frames described above.
How we use your information
- To respond to a service enquiry and schedule work
- To carry out work you have asked us to do and to contact you about it
- To keep a record of work performed at an address
- To meet tax, accounting and legal obligations
- To protect the security and integrity of our website and business
What we do not do
We do not sell, rent or trade customer information. We do not share your details with marketing companies or lead-generation networks. We do not add you to a mailing list because you called us about a broken spring.
We share information only where it is necessary to do the work or required by law: for example with a payment processor when you pay by card, with an accountant or auditor, or where we are compelled by a lawful request.
How long we keep information
Service records are retained for as long as we are required to keep business records and for as long as they remain useful in servicing the same property. Server log data is retained for a limited period by our hosting provider for security purposes.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS. We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You may ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Call (224) 505-2236 or write to us at the address below and we will deal with it.
Children
This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of the page. Material changes will be described here rather than made quietly.
